PhotoJAR: Post Thumbnailer - Download

PhotoJAR: Post Thumbnail displays a post thumbnail for posts with galleries. When paired with a javascript viewer, the full gallery can be displayed when the thumbnail is clicked. PhotoJAR: Post Thumbnail requires PhotoJAR: Base.

Settings

Link Post Thumbnail To - This setting specifies what will occur when a user clicks on the post thumbnail.

Post Thumbnail Size - This sets the default size for the post thumbnails. “thumbnail” and “medium” correspond to the settings in the “Miscellaneous” Wordpress settings.

Usage

The plugin will automatically display a post thumbnail for any post containing a gallery. To specify an image for use as the post thumbnail select the image in the Post Thumbnail box (under Advanced Options on the Write/Edit Post pages).

Installation

Wordpress 2.6 or better highly recommended. Requires PhotoJAR: Base and PHP 5 or greater.

  1. Download PhotoJAR: Post Thumbnailer.
  2. Upload the `pj-post-thumbnailer` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
  3. Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  4. Adjust settings under the ‘Settings -> PhotoJAR’ menu in Wordpress.
  5. Optional: Customize the pj-post-thumb.php template and place it in your theme’s directory (Ex: ‘wp-content/themes/Default’).
  6. Optional: Install a javascript viewer plugin (LightBox, ShadowBox JS, etc.). PhotoJAR: Base will handle the markup to enable this on your images.

    hi

    Dunno if I’m missing something, but I have custom template files on which I us e.g. WordPress’s the_excerpt() and want to show a thumbnail from the the gallery in the respective post how do i do this, is there a function to call from the template code?

    Hello, PhotoJAR: Post Thumbnailer works, but it is not showing clean photo in thumb. It shows bunch of zoomed pixels. What is the problem?

    Got base up and running, removed NextGEN … perfect …

    Now, got Post Thumbnailer installed …

    What is the short code to use this ?

    I cannot find it anywhere in your documentation …

    Hi Mark,

    Sorry about the documentation. There is no shortcode for the Post Thumbnailer. It will automatically create a post thumbnail for posts with galleries. You can specify a thumbnail images from the “Post Thumbnail” box on the edit post screen.

    It’s not working with xLanguage.
    Thumbnail will work but the text won’t be filtered by xLanguage.

    There are issues with xLanguage and handling white characters.
    So this is working great ;)
    If you are looking for multilanguage plugin use qTranslate instead of xLanguage. ;)
