For the past year JARinteractive.com has been a bit lonely, but today it is reborn. The first fruits of the PhotoJAR project will be available in the very near future. The gallery is updated. Here is a quick (non-comprehensive) list of what happened since the last post:
- Marriage
- House Purchase
- PhotoJAR Development
- “Suffer (4NForm mix)” featured on the Echoing Green’s “Suffer EP”

If anybody actually reads this, check back soon for more!

Last December I posted about the NHL not offering free, live NHL video coverage on the internet. Well, this season it appears that Yahoo! has come to the rescue. Yahoo! Sports is offering is offering free game coverage for various games. I can’t figure out how they decide which games to cover, but at least they ar showing some. Hopefully they will be showing some Avs games before too long…in the meantime I’ll be enjoying the games they are showing.

I was watching the news this morning and heard a piece on cell phone “bling.” Upscale brands are customizing phones for people who want (and can afford) to show off with their cell phones to the highest degree. One cell phone company representative stated “What fun is it to be rich if you don’t have a way to show it off?” That seems to be the epitome of American culture today… Appear richer, smarter, and more popular and enjoy the thought that everyone is jealous. I guess that is what “the pursuit of happiness” has become.

after surviving 5 years of constant usage, 4 years of college classes, various travels (including across the pond to England), and a few falls, my trusty PowerBook G4 (500 Mhz) has finally succumbed to all of the use and abuse. The infamous “Spinning Beach Ball” appeared and froze completely. It managed to reboot to the point of claiming a “DMA Failure” (Direct Memory Access). Replacing the hard drive cable (suggested on the MacNN forum) was not able to revive it. Tomorrow a new MacBook will head my way… More details on the MacBook in the near future.

Yesterday in overtime, the Colorado Avalanche beat the Dallas stars to win the series and advance to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. All of the experts predicted Dallas to win the series. Maggie, the TSN monkey, was the only one to predict a win by the Avalanche. On to the second round!

Well if you want to find out, don’t use this quiz. Maybe the standards for geekiness have been shifted because being a geek is now the ‘cool’ thing. Maybe they should have actually had a geek write the questions… Read the rest of this entry »

On Tuesday night I went to see the Avalanche take on the Blues at the Savvis Center. The game was fairly good, although the ice was the worst that the players had ever seen. The score was tied nearly the whole game: 0-0 until the third, and then 1-1 until the shootout. It was fun to see a shootout, especially because the Avs won it.
Today I found out that I had seen David Aebischer’s last game with the Avs, as they traded him to Montreal for Jose Theodore on Wednesday night. I think Aebischer has a lot of potential and it is sad to see him go, but it will be interesting to see how well Theodore does in Colorado.

Disney has officially anounced their long-rumored purchase of Pixar. Is this good for Disney animation or bad for Pixar? Hopefully putting Pixar’s incredible John Lasseter in charge of creativity (chief creative officer) will keep the new Disney/Pixar productions to a high standard. If Pixar’s legendary corporate culture survives the aquisition I think we can still look forward to more great films out of them. Steve Jobs will also be on Disney’s board. What kind of impact will he have?
